Caveat Emptor, (Latin: “let the buyer beware”)

Although I support the ‘labeling of GMO food’, I can’t help but wonder how much time and effort is wasted in trying to convince government agents and corporations that the public has a right to know what kind of food they are eating. We need people in the health industry, to do their jobs and use their position to make the changes necessary for a healthier society. The public continues to demand GMO labeling, while some are fully aware that corn (for example) and the foods that are packaged in our groceries stores (containing corn ingredients), are genetically modified and dead food – whether labelled or not.
Would it be best to use our time and energy in educating ourselves on healthy eating, and accepting that most food is GMO?
Once they label GMO food, then what?
What happens if you find out all the food you were eating was genetically modified?
Was this cause for the purpose of seeing these labels in place, or so that you can eat healthy food and stay away from GMO food?
If you research deeply, you will find that you will most likely have to cut out most of the food you are eating (if you are on a Standard American Diet). So instead of waiting for labels, you can use your energy to educate yourself on the food industry and you will find that if you want to be healthy, you need to make these changes now. You don’t have time to wait to see labels. Accept what you know is GMO, stay away from it, stop buying ‘dead’ packaged foods, because whether you know that it’s genetically modified or not, it is unhealthy to eat.
Put your energy towards growing your own food because you will know what you are growing. But this is definitely a challenge for those living in the city and renting apartments or condos. For those who are faced with this challenge, such as us, we are buying organic fruits and vegetables that we have researched about – that are not common GMO foods. We also don’t eat anything dead, like cereals or packaged pastas, microwave dinners, etc. This demand for GMO labeling is equivalent to cigarette boxes being labelled (Cigarettes cause lung cancer).
Labels are necessary, but for those who have already educated themselves about the GMO foods that do exist, and for those who already know that ‘dead’ food does nothing except confuse and hurt the human body, what are you going to do about it now – for the well being of your family and yourself?

Organic food is monitored and contains the least amount of GMOs, but you must continue to research changes, since American organic apples and pears may contain antibiotics, but Canadian organic apples and pears do not. Learn more:

‘Circumstance does not make the man. It reveals him to himself.’

Excerpt from ‘As a Man Thinketh’ by: James Allan
James Allan is the author of ‘As a Man Thinketh’. He was a British ‘philosophical’ writer who inspired and motivated others through helping them realize that:
‘A man is literally what he thinks, his character being the complete sum of all his thoughts…. As the progressive and evolving being, man is where he is, that he may learn, that he may grow… When he realizes that he may command the hidden soil and seeds of his being, out of which circumstances grow, he then becomes the rightful master of himself.’
For a New Year’s resolution,  I strongly recommend reading ‘As a Man Thinketh’. The audio file can be found here. Enjoy!
